Discover the incredible underwater world with multilevel diving from “Ahla Diving Center”

Every year more and more people prefer diving as their hobby. This activity can bring a person lots of positive emotions with a huge helping of drive and adrenaline. “AHLA” diving center that is situated in Israel on the shore of the Red sea in the Gulf of Aqaba offers everybody diving courses with professional instructors of the highest category.

Search and Recovery, drift diving, multilevel diving with a dive computer, equipment, training of experienced divers and beginners – all this is available at our diving center. We cooperate with PADI association, that is why we are the best at what we do. This article is about multilevel diving with a dive computer, which is gaining more and more popularity.
Peculiarities of multilevel diving with a dive computer
Previously there was an unspoken rule in amateur diving – the max time for a person spent under water equals the non decompression limit of a certain depth. This fact set a certain bans, with which a diver could not enjoy the underwater seneries long. His time spent under water was limited. But with the development of new technologies this have changed and now multilevel diving has become available to poeple, What is multilevel diving?

The technique of multilevel diving is based on the fact that at the time of surfacing the speed of oxygen saturation of a body decreses. This means that a diver has to make stops on certain depths stay there for a small period of time. This is required to a gradual nitrogen exiting from a body and decompression sickness prevention.
On diving courses for amateurs this practice has become habitual and allowed people to stay under water longer, and it is now restricted only by the oxygen supply and warmth. This diving technique has become possible due to the employment of underwater computer "Wheel" that calculates the needed stages and intervals.
What miltilevel diving offers a diver?
Multilevel diving offers a diver something what he came into diving for – the maximal time of being under water. In any body of water where bottom relief allows a diver to use this technique, dive computers can be used. This can be coral reefs, deep freshwater lakes, sunken ships and many more.
You start the surfacing with a maximal depth and gradually accend to the surface, making stops at control points. With the help of a dive computer this practice has become habitual. While you are on a certain depths you can explore a reef or enjoy the senery. It is not surprising that many divers consider a dive computer as irreplacable as a mask or fins,
Instructors of "AHLA" diving school will carry out training of multilevel diving with a dive computer, which will allow you to stay under water longer. We are waiting for you to go through our courses in our diving center in Eilat, Israel.

Advice on maintaining a regulator

Most serious activities demand certain investments. Diving is not an exception. High quality underwater equipment costs a lot therefore it will take much money at first. Having paid a large sum for a professional set a diver wants to use it for a long time without any problems. And this requires proper and prompt service of every element. In this article we will be discussing breathing regulator. Efficiency of this detail is very important because it directly reflects longevity and safety level that is provided at the time of diving. Regulator checking is based on a few principals.
  • frequency. Service is carried out before the process of diving and after it. You mustn’t miss any of the steps.
  • execution of all professional recommendations. In this article you will find a step by step instruction, every step is very important.
  • Attentiveness. Check the device with utmost attention: do not get distracted on other things while doing it and no detail will slip away from you.
Even if diving training is a closed chapter for you than repeating regulator maintaining peculiarities will not hurt. As it has been said the process is divided into two steps. We will explain each step separately.

Checkup before diving

It is carried out in a few steps:
  1. To begin with attach the regulator to the cylinder than breathe in with its help a few times. After that you should repeat the same process with an octopus. The process is goes along with checking the readings of the pressure sensor they must be normal.
  2. Then check the hoses. Entire surface without fractures or other damages is the only suitable state. Same thing with the mouthpiece: holes, fractures are unacceptable. Metal elements should be checked for quality: in a good state they don’t have any signs of corrosion.
  3. If you have protective cases for hoses then they need to be taken off the first stage. This will help examine the hidden parts.
  4. After the described procedures regulator needs to be taken off, change the cap that keeps dust off, take a deep breath on each regulator and keep vacuum. At this a working device issues a barely visible steam of air, but the air is not going backwards.
  5. Last step: checking the carcass of the demand valve. They must be intact without any damage.
Getting ready for diving in Eilat do not forget this memo. If during a checkup you found small imperfections, turn to specialists immediately. Don’t risk using questionable equipment.

Checkup after diving

  1. Rinsing the device, it is important to control the demand valve. It should not be pressed into. You also need to check the dust protecting cap, its ideal position is fastened to the construction.
  2. For a thorough rinse bailout valve is put under a jet of water. Parts of demand valve are rinsed with a warm jet of water and it passes through the mouthpiece and comes out trough permit valve.
  3. Hose that connects inflator of low pressure should be rinsed in warm water too. In doing so the sliding coupling should move back and forth.
If you do all the above mentioned procedures attentively and promptly you will be able to keep your equipment in the due state for a long time. But before going on diving vacation to Israel we recommend you to recall how to maintain your other diving equipment elements.

Проблема головных болей у дайверов

Modern medicine statistics states that many divers suffer from headache at the time of diving. During regular practices every diver experiences headaches from time to time. Moreover, some people regularly suffer from headaches as a result of being on the depth. From this article you will get simple advice on how to avoid headache at the time of diving training.

If such unpleasantness was a one-time case, there is no need to panic, however many deep diving enthusiasts complain of a systematic and quite strong headaches. Note, that the reasons for the pain may be the following:
  • anxiety, stress;
  • physical damage to ear or nose, caused by the difference in pressure (barotraumas);
  • infectious diseases of ears and nose;
  • swallowing of a certain amount of sea water;
  • sudden immersion into cold water;
  • too much pressure of a mask strap on the head;
  • inflammation of the gums or sore tooth
  • preceding pain in the mandibular joint;
  • increased level of CO2;
  • frequent migraines;
  • cervical spondylosis;
  • decompression sickness;
  • hyperextension of neck muscles;
  • Smoking before diving, using caffeine or other stimulants.
As you can see the reasons for possible discomfort may be quite various, and they are often found in a person’s medical card or in his lifestyle. It is possible to determine the source of pain with certainty with the help of a few additional questions.

What is the technique of cylinder fixation?

Many divers bent and stretch their neck for it not to be rubbed by a stop-valve. It becomes the reason of pain, that can be easily avoided – adjust the position of the cylinders so they do not touch your neck in its normal position.

How do you breathe and dive?

A too little amount of air usage can often be the reason of pains – carbon dioxide is accumulated in the body and causes discomfort. Too deep and lengthy dives as well as a fast ascent may cause a decompression sickness. In this case a diver needs immediate help.

Practical advice:

  • Proper diving training – turn to professionals only;
  • loosen a tight mask;
  • try to relax at the time of diving;
  • try to breathe slowly and deep;
  • don’t strain your neck, turn with your body;
  • keep a good physical form;
  • don’t smoke or drink caffeine before diving;
  • follow the safety measures;
  • choose a wetsuit well not to get cold;
  • Divers younger than 40 need to pass a medical check once in two years, older than 40 – every year.
It is important to choose a specialized diving center in Eilat, where a beginner will be set straight, helped with choosing the equipment and taught all the peculiarities.

Diving: a sport or a way of life?

When we talk about diving, we mean a young and perspective kind of active leisure. In the world it has become popular about twenty years ago – previously there were swimming sections but they are not the same thing. Nowadays there are various training programs of the art of water immersion – from scuba diving (trial lesson about 30 minutes) to a full diving training course (theory and practice in the swimming pool and later in the open water).

Aspects of modern diving

First – diving training is compulsory, whereas theory and practice are equally important. You must do what you understand, mind the safety rules and so on. Are you sure that you will be able to learn all the related information on your own?
Diving should be carried out under the supervision of an instructor: first in the swimming pool, then in the open water. You can practice diving on your own only after a series of trainings – you don’t start driving a car right after reading the rules, same here, what is more diving on a significant depth can be dangerous.
Swimming perfectly in one place doesn’t mean excellent diving everywhere. There are regional peculiarities and differences that cannot be ignored.
Not all diving centers will accept your certificate, especially if you received it in an unknown school. Mind this to prevent unpleasant surprises.

On an underwater wave

In conclusion we would like to say that diving is rather a way of life than a sport. If you are interested in this active leisure, finish a diving training course in AHLA DIVE, get a certificate and open a wonderful underwater world to yourself.

What are divers afraid of?

Being under water is not the most typical state for a body and it requires lengthy adaptation. And if you add numerous fears and phobias that divers can have than enjoying diving is out of question.  At the same time some of the fears are quite reasonable and are the results of former experience or knowledge. However there are fears that are caused by the instinct of self-preservation. Only when you are well over these fears you are ready to buy a wetsuit and go to Eilat to practice diving, that AHLA DIVE center offers you.
Among the most common diver’s phobias are:
  • a fear of being in closed space
Claustrophobia that causes much inconvenience on dry land can be the reason for a panic attack under water. That in turn can cause a tragedy. Divers with a fear of being in closed space feel extremely uncomfortable in caves, narrow gorges or in hyperbaric chambers.
  • A fear of sharks
A fear of predators seems natural at the first sight, however it sometimes appears in the places where such creatures cannot be found including swimming pools.
  • A fear of darkness.
Fears that are more common with children can occur among adults with equal strength. Phobias are found frequently among divers because they are in an environment where not everything can be controlled and that is why they feel inconvenient.

To overcome those phobias and restore the ability to enjoy diving specialists first of all advise divers to realize that these are just groundless fears. Having realized that, a plunger will be able to take stressful situations much easier. Creating all conditions for safe diving will help you realize that it was all a mere fantasy. It is also necessary to always watch a diver’s breathing: it has to be steady and calm.

Secrets of saving air – secrets for beginner diver!

Problem of air consumption is familiar to most divers. In the following material you will find tips of its effective saving – useful and practical. Important: this material is aimed at beginners.
15 main tips for proper breathing under water
Diving – is not a competition but still everyone wants to keep their face in front of other team members. The skill of saving air is of great importance, it is taught during diving training courses but the practical part has to be learned on one’s own. Don’t be nervous – Rome was not built in a day you will have time for practice.
In the course of the next dive try to use the following tips:
  1. Trained breathing. Try to make pauses between inhaling and exhaling longer, but it doesn’t have to be too intense.
  2. Breathe as deep as you can. Inhale as though you are doing yoga.
  3. Become a mime. Move under water slowly, smooth as if on a slow motion video.
  4. Помогать руками в ходе плавания не требуется, в противном случае, невесомости не достичь.
  5. Don’t use hand while swimming, otherwise you won’t reach weightlessness.
  6. Work on mastering neutral floatation. Absolute stability is your goal.
  7. Keep horizontal position. Moving sideways leads to unproductive air usage.
  8. Improve streamlining of your equipment.
  9. The best diving is impossible without efficient pressure regulator.
  10. Save the oxygen in the cylinder.
  11. Don’t overload yourself
  12. Don’t freeze yourself, or else you will use more oxygen.
  13. Keep good physical form.
  14. Always improve your level. Learning – is a key to success.
  15. Use your fins properly. Less movements – more benefit.
  16. Don’t compete. Process is more important than winning.
